FG Signals Fresh Review of National Minimum Wage Amid Rising Inflation

The Federal Government has indicated that it is preparing to review Nigeria's national minimum wage, acknowledging that the current ₦70,000 benchmark is being challenged by rising inflation and the increasing cost of living.

The indication came as government officials reiterated their commitment to engaging organised labour and other stakeholders when the next wage negotiation begins. While no new minimum wage has been announced, the government said the review process would be approached through dialogue and collaboration.
